Hollister Hovey is truly an inspiration and anyone who has seen her apartment or blog knows what I mean. She lives in this fantasy place that I could one day only hope to have.

What do you do outside of blogging?
I paint, I shop...and when I'm focused, I make art deco inspired leather collars (of the Peter Pan variety, not dog). Professionally, I handle public relations for a lot of medical device and biotech companies with neat technologies.
How has your sense of style evolved over the past few years?
It certainly has been an evolution -- a very slow one with lots of back pedaling and a consistent menswear theme.
Childhood: Bass Weejuns or Eastlands with the little knots, Levi's, polo shirts and cricket jackets.
Middle School: Levi's, black turtlenecks and big gold hoop earrings
High School: Wasted years
College: More wasted years
Early 20s: My alt-country years -- I rotated 14 pairs of cowboy boots with jeans, t-shirts, Navajo earrings and aviators.
Now: A retreat to childhood with fewer polo shirts and more velvet slippers. I also love well-structured suits paired with shot gun shell belts and tall boots.
Is there anything you are actively looking for right now?
A taxidermied flamingo
What are you currently collecting?
My
apartment's filled to the brim, so I've had to put some limits on
myself lately, but there are a few things I can't resist: vintage
luggage with which you'd never dare travel, pith and polo helmets,
velvet slippers and exotic taxidermy.
Who is the number one person you would like to collaborate with?
Miuccia Prada
Currently Reading/ Watching anything?
Do you dream often and if so do you have recurring themes?
I
remember very few of them. I get a lot of the school stress cliches --
at school naked, facing finals without ever attending class. Sadly,
nothing that inspires much in the waking hours. I tend to do the
tossing, turning, solitary-brain-storm thing right before bed, though,
which can be fruitful at times.
Do you find that your environment affects your work?
Oh
- absolutely. Nothing's more incredible than sitting in my apartment,
perfectly clean with the Louvin Brothers blasting and candles burning.
I'll paint, I'll sew...
Too bad that every time I clean it up, I get excited and invite 20 people over for cocktails/to trash it.
love that blog. nice to see some more info behind it.

It's so lucky for me to find your blog! So shocking and great! Just one suggestion: It will be better and easier to follow if your blog can offer rrs subscription service.
